Milkback

A Porcellio laevis morph, priced per animal.

$2 per isopod

How many1

No set pack size. A new colony usually does better with several animals than with one.

Habitat

Milkback is Porcellio laevis with a pale dorsal wash. Same bones as Dairy Cow: deep litter, cork, a damp third, and strong ventilation. The pale back looks patchy if the colony is crowded, filthy, or dried at the wet end.

Diet

Leaves plus regular small protein and calcium. A large laevis group needs food they can finish, not a pile.

Breeding

Laevis can breed readily. The milk back is a look within the species, and babies take time to show it. No brood count is filed.

A good fit

A lively laevis for keepers who like Dairy Cow behavior and want a lighter back. Needs room.
